Entrepreneurship
A recent study of women in business in France (Women Equity 2020) demonstrated that when women are directors or co-directors of a SME/ETI, the companies are better managed, more profitable, and are less likely to fail than those managed by male counterparts. Numbers also point to the fact that female-led businesses tend to be more aware of or proactive about sustainable and social issues. And since women are the primary consumers of fashion, don’t we need more women designing for women - hence, women at the helm in this industry?
Shemakes seeks to provide women with appropriate environments to develop business savvy in a sustainable and innovative ecosystem co-created by shemakes Labs and associated companies.
Developing a business requires tools and support to instill confidence on a certainly bumpy road. Key entry points to business uptake are twofold:
- If you hold technical or business expertise and want to make a business out of it, shemakes may be able to help you develop missing talents and skills through collective workshops and support [browse our upcoming events].
- Or, if you have identified a potential social or technological innovation, you can create your prototype and test it in its collaborative network [take a look at our labs network and find the one that fits your needs].
