Jooyoung Park, Ambassador
Jooyoung Park is a South-Korean HCI researcher living in Stockholm. She is a PhD candidate in Interaction Design at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Her background is in human-computer interaction (HCI), industrial design engineering, and information and culture technology studies. Jooyoung’s research focuses on designing intimate technologies using critical feminist theory-practices, especially in the contexts of menstruation and chronic pain. Her work investigates how intelligent, soft, wearable technologies can intimately touch our bodies and facilitate cultivation of long-term interoceptive bodily awareness.
Connecting her personal fascination in movement practices, she actively uses soma design practice to inquire into the boundaries between our bodies, skin, and digital materials. She is interested in using soft robotics technologies, e-textiles, biosensors, and tactile actuators to materialize new ways of touching and understanding our bodies.
